Lise Fredette Disappearance - Peterborough Police Press Release

November 13, 2014 the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service began an investigation into the disappearance of 74-year-old Lise Fredette of Bensfort Road. On that same day, Nov. 13, Fredette had not reported for work at the Chemong Road Walmart and has not been seen since. Officers attended her residence on Bensfort Road where there was evidence of a struggle and injury in her driveway. An around-the-clock investigation began in order to find Ms Fredette. Our investigation has led us to believe that there was a failed relationship between Ms Fredette and 76-year-old Andrew Watson, of Payne Street.

On September 9, 2014 Watson was warned by the Peterborough Lakefield Police Service to have no further contact with Ms Fredette. Through the investigation it is believed that Watson surveilled Ms Fredette and continued to have contact with her, despite her attempts to end the relationship.
Our investigation and evidence collected leads us to believe that Watson was waiting for Ms Fredette when she arrived home from work on November 12, 2014 and that he attacked her in her driveway, causing her grievous harm.
We believe he drove her to a place where the ground was soft and the grass was long and yellowed and may have left her there.

Lise Fredette Disappearance -Peterborough Police Seeking More Clues

“Over the last week and a half, we have come to know Lise’s family. Our primary goal from the outset was to find Lise and this continues to be the case,” says Detective Staff Sergeant Lynne Buehler. We will continue to work to find her and we are asking for your help.”
We would ask that anyone in the area with property of this description take notice of tire impressions or disturbed earth. We have not recovered Ms Fredette’s purse and blue thermal lunch bag. We are asking that the public please check their property for any indications of Ms Fredette or these items that may belong to her.
“We are in the beginning stages of the investigation and there is still a lot of work to do and our work will continue until we are able to bring Lise home to her family to be put to rest,” says Deputy Chief Farquharson.
