Omemee, Ontario May 10th, 2014 Mothers Day Weekend would not be complete without a stop at Omemee and District Horticultural Society Annual Plant Sale.

Mother’s Day Saturday 9:00am until noon you will be able to select from 100's of plants including two annuals  featured as “Plants of the Year.” One is a beautiful, colourful Coleus, and the other a golden Salvia. Many Omemee and District Horticultural Club members now have lots of special, hard to find plants that they donate to the sale, so you never know what you may find!  Plants at the sale will all have labels, indicating the name and physical characteristics, as well as preferred growing conditions to help them flourish in their new homes.
While doors open at 9am, seasoned gardeners arrive earlier to secure their place in line.
"The early birds get the worms err.. I mean – pick of plants," confides plant sale chair,Barb Morrison.
Shoppers are asked to please bring their own boxes or totes, as well as a  couple of extra loonies for the large planter raffle. The Large Planter being raffled off contains very colourful palette of the “Plants of the Year” The planter from last year was beautiful, and the winner was Nicole Cockerell from Omemee.
