Jamie Schmale Brings Experience to Conservative Party of Canada

Jamie Schmale - Who IS He?

Jamie Schmale recently announced his intention to seek the Conservative Party of Canada nomination for the riding of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock (HKLB).
Who is Jamie Schmale?

Jamie Schmale- Barry Devolin Executive Assistant

The Lindsay resident, who grew up in Bobcaygeon, made his decision following last November’s surprise announcement by current Member of Parliament Barry Devolin that he would not seek re-election in 2015.
“After 10 years as Barry’s Executive Assistant, I feel I have gained the knowledge and skills needed to tackle the many issues facing this area,” said Schmale. “It has been an honour to work with such a great representative and I hope local members of the party will consider me worthy of their support.”
In addition to serving in Barry’s office, Schmale served as Campaign Manager for the 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2011 federal elections – increasing the Conservative vote each election. Schmale has also been a member of the HKLB Conservative Riding Association since 2004 and currently holds a number of volunteer positions in the area.
“My campaign platform will focus on jobs and the economy in this area,” said Schmale. “The Trent-Severn Waterway can be a great economic driver for this area, and I will continue to work with local stakeholders to improve this resource so that it reaches its full potential.”

“I will also work to improve market access for our farmers, manufacturers, and exporters by ensuring that government departments act in a more collaborative manner,” said Schmale. “And of course, keeping taxes low for Canadian businesses and families is paramount. Since the Conservative Government was elected, the average family of four now pays nearly $3,400 less in taxes each year.”

Jamie Schmale - Early Years

Growing up in Bobcaygeon, Schmalz began his career with 910 CKLY radio in Lindsay and spent the next seven years as a local journalist and News Director. First running for the Conservative Party of Canada nomination in 2003, Schmale went on to lead Barry Devolin’s team in Lindsay and Ottawa. Local Conservative Party members will determine their official candidate at a nomination meeting held later this year.
