Omemee Policing Committee Warns - Lock It or Lose It!

Please be vigilant! Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Report suspicious activity.
It is important to ensure that all windows, doors and buildings on your premises are closed and locked. Double check to be sure. Remove tools, ladders etc to a shed or garage. It is important to lock you vehicles at all times. If you have been affected or you see anything suspicious, PLEASE REPORT TO THE OPP, CRIME STOPPERS OR COMMUNITY POLICING. DO NOT REPORT TO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICE THEY CAN'T HELP WITH THESE PROBLEMS.

VANDALISM HAPPENING NOW 
Residents and Businesses Be Vigilant 

  1. If you are going to away make arrangements with a neighbour, friend or family to make your home look lived in by removing newspapers, mowing the lawn, putting lights on timers, and asking neighbours to keep watch. 
  2. Make sure all doors and windows are secured on your home, business and vehicle(s) Double check! 
  3. Be aware of your surroundings at all times 
  4. Be Discreet 
What to look for
  • a. Strangers walking up and down your street at various times of the day and night.
  • b. Strange vehicles driving by slowly up and down your street at various times of the day and night. 
  • c. Someone prowling around at night(this happens a lot)
  • d. Groups of people hanging around 
  • e. Try to get as accurate description as possible ie:​license #, make and model of vehicle, colour, and distinctive features ie:​colour of clothing, hair, any distinctive features, height, etc
