Steven Ball Arrested!
Man Facing Sexual Charges Back in Custody
22 May 2012, Durham Regional Police Service Whitby detachment located and arrested Steven Ball, 40 years of no fixed address. Ball has been returned to Peterborough and will be held in custody overnight. He will appear in court in the morning.
Ball was in custody at the Central East Correction Centre serving a sentence and was brought to Peterborough on May 10, 2012, to face new charges of Invitation to Sexual Touching, two counts of Sexual Assault and two counts of Sexual Interference.
He appeared in a Peterborough Court on May 10, 2012, and was remanded back into custody at the Central East Correction Centre with a new Court date set for May 15, 2012, in Peterborough. His previous sentence had expired on May 13, 2012, and he was inadvertently released from the Central East Correction Centre.
The Courts had issued two warrants for the arrest of Ball; a warrant issued in the public interest to have Ball returned to jail to face these additional charges and a Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in Court in Peterborough on May 15, 2012.
