Police Offer Free Home Guard Program!

Fair Weather Break and Enters Give Wake Up Call!


April 30, 2012 around 4:45 p.m. the victim returned to his Maniece Avenue home to find an unknown suspect had gained entry to a detached garage on the property through an unlocked door. On May 1 at approximately 11:30 a.m. the victim returned home and discovered the suspects had attempted to gain entry into the basement. There was no damage and nothing was taken as a result of the incident.

Police Issue Property Security Reminders


Police remind residents of the following:

Residences:

· Lock all doors during the day and night
· Close and lock windows at night (screens can be cut and access gained on open windows)
· Close window coverings at night to keep valuables out of plain view
· Keep porches and rear driveways illuminated or have motion sensor lighting

Vehicles:

· Keep vehicles locked at all times
· Remove all valuables from vehicles

The Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service offers a Home Guard Program. The Home Guard Program is a free security audit/survey of your residence and is completed by a Peterborough Lakefield Community Policy Auxiliary Officer. To make an appointment please call 705-876-1122 and ask for Victim Services.
