Peterborough Police Seeking Murder Suspect!

Attempted Murder Arrest
On Saturday (May 5), 2012 at approximately 9 p.m. two suspects attended a Stewart Street home where a backyard party was taking place. Those people at the gathering asked the two suspects, whom they know but were uninvited, to leave. The suspects refused to leave the property and an altercation took place. One victim, a 36-year-old man, was struck in the head more than once with a baseball bat. He was taken to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre with serious skull injuries and was later transported to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit. At least two other people also received minor injuries during the altercation.
Police were called to the home but the suspects fled before police arrived. One of the suspects was arrested a short time later at a Park Street North address. Justin James Ford, 23, of McKellar Street, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault with a weapon. He was held in custody and will appear in court today.
A warrant is being issued for the arrest of the second suspect, Travis William Russell, 29, of Peterborough. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service at 705-876-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
