Kawartha Charity Riders Rescue Student Dreams!
Hello my name is Ann-Marie, you are always doing community pieces, and I thought this should be something of interest.
Kawartha Charity Riders Fundraising Bikers
There is a local charity group called Kawartha Charity Riders. Kawartha Charity Riders is a group of individuals who raise funds through social functions, motorcycle rides, and gatherings. They raise money, and put all money directly back into different areas of the community where it is really needed. Tough economic times have hit the City of Kawartha Lakes hard, and there are many out there who can benefit from a helping hand from a big heart.
Kawartha Charity Riders Take Action on Scott Young Students' Problem
My daughter approached this group on behalf of Scott Young Public School, because unfortunately, there are ten families this year that can not afford the end of the year class trip. Although their Boston Pizza fundraiser wil cover a portion of the cost, some kids may still not get to go.
Rick Gibson, President of Kawartha Charity Riders, and Tom Vella, Vice President, as well as various members, agreed that no kid should feel they may not get to be a part of what every other child gets to partake in. With Craig Clements and Rick Price throwing in the first donations of the night $650.00 dollars was raised in moments - a heart-warming experience!
Kawartha Charity Riders Presents Donation to Scott Young Public School
Today at 1pm, the President of Kawartha Charity Riders, along with a few members, will be going to Scott Young Public School to present this money to the grade seven class. Maybe there should be someone there to cover this story, and give this group a little back in reconition. Kawartha Charity Riders is based out of Lindsay, but is forty members strong, with members living all over the Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough area.
Sometimes the people with the biggest hearts, are the ones we never really know are out there.

Editor's Note: As soon as we found Ann-Marie's letter on the Omemee Pigeon eFlyer Facebook Page, we called Scott Young Public School to ask permission to attend the presentation. The Administrative Assistant informed us that Kawartha Charity Riders had been at Scott Young Public School at 12:45am, and had already left. Kawartha Charity Riders Bike Night is Wednesday evenings at Roadside Diner.Come out to see the bikes, and meet these big-hearted bikers.
